EVN (September 12) — Sources within the Ethiopian government, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told EVN that a deadly attack was carried out recently by the Fano People’s Force in the Qara Meda area of the North Showa Zone.
According to these sources, the attack resulted in the deaths of army officers. The incident occurred when a Land Cruiser, carrying the officers, was ambushed by Fano and subsequently attacked by the armed group.
The attack happened last Sunday evening, leading to further consequences as defense soldiers from multiple camps, including those stationed at Shewarobit Dejazmach Tse Ergete School, were compelled to relocate to Debresina. They reportedly traveled in seven Isuzu open cars.
